About our congregation
We seek to act as a moral force in the world, believing that ethical living is the supreme witness of religion. The here and now and the effects our actions will have on future generations deeply concern us. We know that our relationships with one another, with diverse peoples, races, and nations, should be governed by justice, equity, and compassion.

Driving Directions

309 North Garfield, Pocatello, Idaho
As you enter Pocatello on Interstate 15 from either north or south, take the Clark St. exit, stay on Clark (it will twist and turn) and head down the hill. After just over a mile, the street jogs sharply left, then right. Go under the underpass and forward at the next two traffic lights. At the stop sign, turn right onto Garfield, go 2 blocks, and on the left, at the corner of Lander and Garfield, is the lovely stone First Congregational United Church of Christ building built in 1904. Our office and Sunday services are inside.

About Our Congregation

We uphold the free search for truth. The Pocatello Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is a caring community of individuals and families that provides a religious environment dedicated to freedom of thought and welcoming of diverse expression.

Our Mission is to:

  • Affirm and promote the principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association within the Pocatello community;
  • Nurture our own and others' spiritual growth, giving each other comfort, and sharing laughter along the way;
  • Celebrate life through creative expression;
  • Honor life experience as a source of our religious values;
  • Learn about the roots and meanings of our liberal religious values;
  • Transform our values into the will to act for peace, the environment, and social justice, both individually and together;
  • Foster our involvement in the larger Unitarian Universalist community.

The City of Pocatello is located in southeast Idaho and nestled at 4,448 feet in the western foothills of the Rocky Mountains along the Oregon Trail. Pocatello has an unusually desirable four-season climate where clear, sunny and dry is the norm. Pocatello has 32 parks, the Idaho Museum of Natural History, the Fort Hall Replica, Golf Courses, Swimming Complex, Skateboard Park, Bike and Hiking Trails, and the Pocatello Zoo. These are just of few of the attractions visitors and residents enjoy. Nearby mountains and sagebrush desert provide a wide range of outdoor activities without traveling far. The Idaho State University campus, with an enrollment of over 13,000 students is located in Pocatello and helps form a foundation of varied intellectual, spiritual, and cultural outlets.
