The History of the World Eadaë

The Gods have written their book of days, and it spans millennia.  From the earliest societies of those beings who lived before the gods, to the springtime of the gods themselves, on through the ages of magic and man, the world has turned and spawned legends and horrors and mighty civilizations.  There is no end to this cycle, save for when the Last Leaf Falls.

The information on these pages represents a time line of the world of Eadaë.  Please note that it is highly incomplete, and much of the information presented here for each age will eventually be presented on a separate page.  Items are also subject to change, although I will attempt to make some sort of note when finalized information is presented.

The Time Before (centered on 1 million years before the arrival of the Mother and Father) Page Pending
  • The Mo Ketseth'ua evolve, and live a relatively isolated existence on the continent of Amtherias.

  • The Ahngûntha arise, bringing about the extinction of all previous forms of Thanalé.  They swiftly create a civilization marked by mighty, monolithic constructions.

  • The founding of Sithûs Far-hennan, a temple-city which will serve as the center of the quickly growing and powerful blood-letting religion.

  • The world begins to fail under the horrible powers and rites of the blood-letting religion.  The Ahngûntha themselves begin to prey on one another.

  • The collapse of the Ahngûntha civilization.  The world is left in burnt ruins.

The Age of Gods (100,000 years long) Page Pending

  • The Mother and Father arrive into the world and sun.

  • The world is healed and reborn.

  • The birth of the Host.

  • The Host differentiate into the y'Asalla, the Eldharin, and the Fae'tama.

  • The y'Asalla remove themselves to the mighty island of Hybasa, where they make their homes.

  • Eadaë brings forth Men into the world, who create their mighty realm of  Eolin

  • The fall of Eolin.

  • The Yaurdwali te Dwauta are created by the y'Asalla, who wish for worshippers.

The Age of Magic (10,000 years long)  Page Pending

  • The Yaurdwali begin to live in their scattered "arcology" cities.  The world between these cities remains wild and savage.

  • Samildanach begins teaching those Yaurdwali who follow him the importance of his Order, and how it should be the one true way for the rest of the world.

  • The Yaurdwali create the Aewylin, because they now desire worshippers.  Thus begins their fall from the grace of the y'Asalla.

  • The Äubrekka begin to be noticed by the Yaurdwali.  This stout race, evolved from the ancient Men of Eolin, have long lived under the mountains.  But their history is now lost.  The Yaurdwali begin to use them as laborers.

  • The e'Gratën begin migrating out of the jungles.  The Yaurdwali, afraid of their own deaths, begin to use them as soldiers to fight their battles.

  • While the race of Men have been all but wiped out in the rest of the world, Obroë gathers a population and puts them in a place of protection.  These are the Enkidai, the root of the Tree of Men.

  • The rise of Autumn as Samildanach and those who follow him split away from the rest and settle the mountain stronghold of Ashë Samlūd.

  • The Eldharin split into the Ahlwynnä and the Môrkaleb.

  • The Yaurdwali make war upon the y'Asalla, attempting to storm Hybasa.  They are defeated and cast beyond the Walls of Air.  The Blood of Autumn dig down into Ashë Samlūd, knowing that they could never be victorious in the aftermath of the y'Asalla's anger.

The Elder Age (6,220 years long) Page Pending

  • The races forge their own kingdoms in the absence of the Yaurdwali.  The Aewylin found the kingdom of Arulwynn with its shining capitol of Herion, the Äubrekka found the under-kingdom of Nûn-Ek'ne'kir, the e'Gratën found the kingdom of Dy'kennik, and the Enkidai found the kingdom of Ûriad.

  • Samildanach corrupts the Du'ekka, a race of Äubrekka, in his forging of the Thirteen Dooms.  Two of the Dooms he gives to each race, and one each he gives to his lieutenants, the Môrkaleb.

  • The Autumn War begins, which sees the fall of the lands under the black tide of the e'Gratën under the command of the Môrkaleb.  For nearly 200 years they rule the known lands.  The races and their nations fall and divide, leading to the development of modern racial differences.

  • The Last Army, comprised of Enkidai and Aewylin and Äubrekka, near defeat at the hands of the e'Gratën.  At the same time the Blood of Autumn rise up against Hybasa, believing themselves strong enough to take control of it, and thus the entire world.  But in anger, the y'Asalla utterly defeat the Blood and banish them all to different fates.  this causes the armies of the Autumn to falter and crumble, and the Last Army becomes victorious.  In the end, the Last Army fades away as its peoples go to join what is left of their civilizations.  The age ends with a long dark period.

The Valensian Age of Men (4,008 years long)  Page Pending

  • The rise of the various civilizations of Men throughout the Two Continents.  Chief among them is Valensia, which is both strong and wise, and which comes to dominate the lands completely.

  • Wizardry is established as a true institution in the great universities of the world.  By mutual consent, the craft becomes a single organization, and will be marked by bringing knowledge to the world.

  • The Wizard Kingdoms begin appearing.  These are previous nations that have become dominated by the Wizards that once sought only to teach, but now wish for power.  The very institution of Wizardry begins to collapse as an organization.

  • The persecution of Wizards begins.

  • The Wizard nations begin open war with one another.  This is the War of Power, and will end with the collapse of civilization, a bitter lesson to Men, who will now hold those with the Power in fear rather than awe or even, as was previously the case, anger.

The Angaran Age of Men (3,667 years long)  Page Pending

  • The rise of the mighty sea kingdom Angara.  Founded upon the island of Hybasa, now renamed Angara by Men, it becomes a land of great spiritual power because of its proximity to the y'Asalla, who tolerate its presence through their sentimentality towards ancient Eolin.  They see it as a way for Men to regain their grace.

  • The spread of Angara's influence throughout the Two Continents, and indeed the entire world.

  • Angara becomes an empire and begins to fall into a dark period of greed and corruption, as is the wont of Men.  In time, the y'Asalla withdraw and leave Angara a spiritually floundering land.  Petty wars will soon break out throughout the world.

  • Angara, by now having a long history of war against her former colonies and protectorates, falls under the rule of men who blame the y'Asalla for all of these troubles, and turn their war-making against them.  Because of this final audacity, the y'Asalla strike down the very island of Hybasa, and remove themselves to secret places throughout the world.  But their anger was so great that it caused the entire world to break, leaving the lands much changed, and the civilizations of Men in tatters.

The Final Age of Men (1,047 years long... so far)  Page Pending

  • Civilization begins to rise from near-barbarism.  Here and there centers of civilization appear, the chief among them being the land of Calorne.

  • The founding of the Lands of the White Citadel.  Next to Calorne, this is perhaps the greatest center of learning on the Two Continents.

  • The rise of the Wizard King, Eblis.  He will come to rule most of eastern Ansend, and is indeed the first stirrings of the Autumn since the first Autumn War.

  • The coming of the Second Autumn War....
