Seabase High Adventure

April 2002

In April 2002 Inland Scuba Venture Crew 162 and Grand Teton Council had twelve participants spend ten days in and the Sea Base. The trip started as a flight from Salt Lake City, Utah to Ft. Lauderdale.

The first adventure was vehicles. The car rental company gave us four Daewoo's. This was for twelve people, cloth's and dive gear. We made it. We drove to the Sea Base in the Keys.

We arrived at the Sea Base and settled in. The wind was blowing but little did we know that this was going to have such of an effect on this weeks activities. The prayers we said for the meals didn't mention anything about the wind.

We didn't get to do much diving during the week but we decided it was worst being a sailor. We went to Key West on Monday and the Everglades and the beach on Tuesday. On Wednesday we tried to dive a spanish wreck but the visibility was less than two feet. We went to the gulf side and dove a wreck that was in nine feet of water. Many snorkeled and we all jumped off the boat. Thursday we kayaked and swam in the swimming pool. We had a campfire in the evening. On Friday we tried to dive again and this time got to some patch reefs. We came home on Saturday.

Enjoy the pictures.

Next trip is planned for 2004
