FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Where can I find lyrics or tablature to a specific song?
Some song titles on these pages are linked to their respective lyrics. If the title of a track reviewed by me or anyone else does not contain a link, it means lyrics/tab for that track are, to my knowledge, unavailable on the Net. The song you're looking for might be in the One- and Few-Hit Wonders or Miscellaneous section, so please search those first. Search for the song/artist you're looking for by pressing Ctrl-F, then typing in the name. If you're looking for a song that I don't mention on this site, try searching for a single line in the song and enclose it in quotes (example: "I saved my pennies and I saved my dimes") at Google. If that turns up nothing, try shopping for sheet music at Sheet Music Plus. LEGAL NOTE: lyrics are for my and your personal enjoyment only. I will not, and you must not, use them for commercial gain.

2. I clicked on a song title, but the link is broken. Where are the lyrics?
The Internet is a dynamic medium, and lyric sites do shut down from time to time due to legal problems or other circumstances; that is the downside to my linking song titles to their lyrics on other people's sites. My site has grown so large by now that I seldom check the validity of my links anymore. But whenever I find a broken one, I'll either remove it or replace it with a valid one.

3. What is the title/who sang the song that goes (fill in lyrics here)?
The lyrics won't ring a bell to me. Like I said above, search Google for the lyrics in question, in quotes.

4. Where can I find a MIDI, RealAudio, or MP3 file for a specific song?
MemphisJan's site contains plenty of MIDIs. For RA files galore, try visiting Marybeth or the Wanderer. As for MP3s, Napster and MP3.com have both been in legal trouble in the past, so they may not have what you seek.

5. How can I contact a specific artist (or family of a deceased artist) by e-mail or post mail? Especially, how can I find a living artist's tour schedule?
Some of the official websites listed on my links page include e-mail and/or post-mail contact info for their respective artists/families; living artists' websites also contain tour schedules. If you can't find an official website or contact info for an artist, it means the artist/family don't want you to contact them.

LAST RESORT

Have you followed the above instructions to no avail? Since I often don't know the answer to "Who sang such-and-such?" or "Where are the lyrics to such-and-such?" I'll let you sign my guestbook. Please make it a public entry and include your e-mail address so other visitors might be able to help you if I can't. Likewise, if you view my guestbook, you can potentially meet other Oldies fans, exchange info, and tell them where to find what they seek in case I don't know.
